[Sophie has lived all her life in Luceti, so it isn't as though she's not used to weird happenings. At the same time, though, you have to admit that it's a little surprising to wake up wearing something you definitely didn't have on when you went to bed last night.

Now, normally Sophie would just ask one of her family in House 34 what the heck is going on, but it's still pretty early and she's been told a few times not to make a lot of noise before everyone is up. But hey, no problem: she left her journal on the floor beside her bed last night.

So she clambers out of bed, and dressed in the jacket and a pair of pyjama bottoms with little yellow duckies on them (it's the height of fashion), she opens up her journal.]

Why?

[Not that she'd object to doing so, but where did that come from?]

Because there is a small possibility that a bad person entered your room while you were asleep. If they try that again, whoever you trade with could beat them up.

[It wouldn't work if it was a Malnosso's Shift, but better safe than sorry.]

Then:] I could beat them up.

[She wants to say yes--she really wants to say yes--but Sophie is essentially an honest little girl, and so she admits:] Probably Wally could do better.

Trade with him, then. Surely he'd allow you a punch or two once he's done.

[She looks alarmingly enthusiastic about this.]

And remember to wash your hands once you're done.

[Why is everyone so insistent about this? Sheesh.]

What kinda bad places?

...Dark rooms where bad people meet and talk about the crimes they wish to commit. In the dangerous part of town.

[He's not a criminal, generalities are all he has.]

[Her eyes widen, but decidedly not in fear.]

We should go find them and get them.

[What are you going to do now, Cecil?]

We can hardly do so now. We'd have to find the exact room first, and your new jacket might get dirty.

So? We gotta stop the bad guys.

[Cecil, Fenimore is going to fire you as a babysitter....]

We need a plan for that. Otherwise, we risk capture or worse, and that would make everyone very unhappy.

[...Not that having a plan helped him most of the time, but still.]

What kinda plan?

[Don't you just usually charge right in?]

We need fighters that can take advantage of any potential weakness in our opponents. People that can heal the group if needed. Enough supplies to last a few days too, just in case.

[A good party, in other words.]

[She turns this over in her head for a bit.]

We could ask Gee Girl.

[He thinks about it for a few moments.]

...She certainly can fight, and she could cover our offensive magical needs... We'd still need a dedicated healer, but that'd be an excellent start.

[She grabs the journal and drags it down to knee level while yanking up her pajamas bottoms. Have a view of a perfectly normal five-year-old knee, Cecil.]

And what a good job she did. Did she use Nala's power, or was it a spell from home?

[Because a dedicated healer needs Haste and Esuna equivalents, and Nala doesn't quite cut it.]
